Janmashtami 2026 at ISKCON Gurugram: Aarvak Diagnostics On Ground With Medical, Emergency and Ambulance Support

On 4th September 2026, ISKCON Gurugram on Sohna Road celebrates Sri Krishna Janmashtami. The temple expects footfall of close to one million devotees across the day and night — one of the largest single-site gatherings in the city's calendar.

What We Are Running On Site

• A staffed medical room inside the temple premises, open through the celebration
• Emergency first response — trained paramedics, oxygen, nebulisation, basic life support and dressing
• Ambulance on standby for immediate transfer to nearby hospitals if a case needs escalation
• On-the-spot vitals check — blood pressure, pulse oximetry and random blood sugar
• A free health package camp where devotees can register for a subsidised screening

Why A Crowd This Size Needs Real Medical Cover

At a million-person gathering, the medical load is predictable and it is rarely dramatic. What we plan for:

• Dehydration and heat exhaustion — long queues, fasting through the day, September humidity
• Fasting-related hypoglycaemia, especially in devotees on diabetes medication (see our note on festive fasting and blood sugar)
• Fainting and falls in dense standing crowds
• Breathlessness and asthma flare-ups, made worse by incense, dust and crowd density
• Chest pain in older devotees, where the only right answer is an immediate ECG and transfer
• Minor injuries — cuts, sprains, foot injuries from crowd movement

Our staff are stationed to spot these early rather than treat them late.

Practical Advice If You Are Attending

• Carry water and drink through the day even while fasting
• Diabetics: keep glucose tablets or a sweet on you, and don't skip prescribed medication without asking your doctor
• Wear closed footwear you can stand in for hours
• Keep a photo of your prescription and any allergies on your phone
• If you feel faint, don't push through the crowd — ask a volunteer to walk you to the Aarvak medical room
