School Health Screening in Gurugram: What Parents Should Actually Get Checked

A child's annual screening should be short, painless and useful. Long panels on healthy children help nobody.

    The Core Screening

    • Height, weight and BMI plotted on a growth chart — the single most informative measurement
    • Haemoglobin / CBC — iron deficiency anaemia is common and directly affects concentration
    • Vision and hearing — the most commonly missed cause of poor school performance
    • Dental check
    • Vitamin D — low in most urban children with limited outdoor time

    Add Only If Indicated

    • Thyroid profile — poor growth, weight change, lethargy
    • Blood sugar — family history of diabetes, obesity, excessive thirst or urination
    • Allergy testing — recurrent wheeze, rashes or persistent cold (more on allergy testing)
    • Urine routine — recurrent tummy pain or burning urination
    • Coeliac / stool tests — chronic loose motions or poor weight gain

Making It Easy on the Child

Use a single small-volume paediatric sample, keep the parent in the room, and avoid repeat pricks by ordering the full panel at once. Our phlebotomists handle paediatric collections at home, which is far less frightening than a lab visit.

Schools and housing societies in Gurugram can arrange an on-site screening camp — contact us or call +91 92663 33711. See our health checkup packages for family plans.
